Information for participants

General information about Geet Purvai

1. Registration and the event is free for everyone.

2. A participant can participate in any number of acts as long as the act has been auditioned and selected by the Geet Purvai team.

3. There will a first round of audition and then regular practice sessions will be conducted to assist the participants. Participants can definitely practice on their own.

4. The last week of Geet Purvai will be treated as the week of Stage Rehearsal. Participants will have to showcase the final product before the actual day of the show. This is compulsory for everyone. To accomodate schedules, we will have three days booked for that. Mics, amplifiers and equipment will be arranged for the participants.

5. language is no bar. One can sing a song in any language but try to keep it centered around Indian Music.

6. All Karaoke tracks must be submitted to malshe.rohit@gmail.com before the first audition.

Geet Purvai Skits

Dear Readers,

Those of you who participated or were the audiences in Geet Purvai 2006 will recall the skit we had then.

For non singers:

Those people who do not want to sing but still want to participate in the event are definitely encouraged to participate in the "Geet Purvai Skit". This is a real exciting part of the show. This will be a live demo of acting, dancing and playback singing the way it happens in Bollywood movies !!!

A few of you will act and dance on stage and few of you will sing from side stage.

Stories are welcome and in the past years they usually centered around "A guy meets a gal"..."Our college days"...

Give wings to your imagination - and this year too, we can make a great show by performing something similar/different or something like this.

Have ideas but do not have a team ? Come to us - we will form the teams.

Geet Purvai ! Lets begin the wind

"Geet Purvai" is all about showcasing the musical talent of Madison. This year the showcase seeks talent from local bands, Singers, Solo musicians. The show will be centered around Indian Music of all forms.

In the past years the event has been a great success in terms of participants and audiences. Check out some pictures here.

The logistics are not yet finalized but we are seeking participation from all ages.
